Saw them a few weeks before this opening for Mono in Boston. My friend and I were right at the front of the stage loving it but covering our ears during the swells. At the end of their set, Jerry reached over his drums and handed us both earplugs and, smiling, said "you're gonna want these" RIP Jerry!

always enjoyed the melvins a lot but hadn't really paid much attention for a long while. assumed they were probably still doing the same kind of thing. hadn't appreciated what an insanely potent force they'd developed into since the turn of the century. fucking hell this is great.
